Life and AD&D Insurance
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provide financial protection for you and the people who depend on you if the unexpected happens. UMG provides Basic Life and Basic AD&D Insurance at no cost to you, and you can elect additional coverage.
Life insurance options

Additional UMG-provided benefits
In addition to Life and AD&D insurance, UMG provides additional financial and benefits support to your loved ones in the event of your death, including:
- 2 months of base salary
- 100% of your annualized target bonus
- Final expense contribution: Up to $5,000 with fewer than 20 years of service or $10,000 with 20+ years of service
- Continued health coverage: Up to one year of UMG-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for dependents enrolled in your plans at the time of your death
Don’t forget your beneficiary
Your beneficiary is the person—or people—you choose to receive your life insurance and AD&D benefit. Be sure to add and keep your beneficiary information up to date at umusicbenefits.com.
You may need to provide health information
Depending on the amount of coverage you elect, you may be asked to complete Evidence of Insurability (EOI). This is a short health questionnaire The Hartford uses to determine whether your additional coverage can be approved. You may view this instruction PDF on how to complete the EOI process.
Leaving UMG?
You may be able to continue certain life insurance and supplemental AD&D insurance coverage after you leave UMG by submitting an application to The Hartford. You will receive this in the mail from The Hartford after your termination.
