Health Savings Accounts

Benefit is available starting January 1, 2026

UMG provides a Health Savings Account (HSA) to employees enrolled in the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

UMG provides an employer contribution to offset medical costs, but this account also allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical expenses now or in the future with the opportunity to invest those funds for long-term tax-free savings.

Eligible Expenses

You can pay for eligible health-related expenses for you and your dependents such as medical visits, prescriptions, sunscreen, over-the-counter medicine, and more. Find the full list of eligible expenses.

Your Contribution

You may contribute the following amount to your HSA annually:

  • Individual coverage: $3,550
  • Family coverage: $7,050
  • Catch-up contribution (age 55+): $1,000

Employer Contribution

UMG also contributes to your HSA to help cover out-of-pocket healthcare costs:

  • Individual coverage: $850*
  • Family coverage: $1,700*

    How It Works

    • You can elect the HSA amount you’d like to contribute on a pre-tax basis directly in your benefits account (you can make changes to the amount at any time)
    • Use your HSA funds for eligible medical expenses such as doctor visits, prescriptions, and more
    • Unused funds roll over year to year—there’s no “use-it-or-lose-it” rule

    Investment Options

Once your HSA balance reaches $2,000, you can choose to invest your funds in a selection of mutual funds on WageWorks. This allows your savings to grow tax-free over time, giving you the opportunity to build long-term healthcare savings.

    Additional Benefits

    • HSA funds are yours to keep, even if you change jobs or retire.
    • You can use your HSA to pay for qualified medical expenses now or save and invest for future healthcare costs.
    • Works alongside other pre-tax programs, like Limited Purpose FSAs, for maximum tax savings (note: you cannot contribute to a healthcare FSA if enrolled in the HDHP).

*Your employer contribution will be prorated on a quarterly basis depending on when you enroll.
