Pet adoption reimbursement

The Adopt-A-Pet Program helps UMG employees provide homes to adoptable pets. UMG will reimburse eligible employees up to $150 when adopting a pet from a shelter or rescue organization.

Eligibility

This policy applies to all regular, full-time UMG employees immediately upon hire or in accordance with terms contained in Collective Bargaining Agreements, if applicable.

Process

To request a reimbursement, complete the  reimbursement form and submit the form with required documentation to PeopleConnect (including receipt – see more requirements below).

All amounts you receive from the Program are considered taxable income for you and UMG will report the total paid on your behalf each year on your W-2 Form.

Definitions

For the purpose of this Program, “required documentation” means any documentation proving the adoption of a pet from a shelter or rescue organization. This documentation must include the following:

  • Your name
  • The name of the organization
  • The federal tax ID
  • The type of animal adopted
  • Date of the adoption
  • Amount of the adoption fee

Reimbursements are limited to the lesser of the actual adoption fee or $150. Reimbursements are limited to one per calendar year. Reimbursements will be issued quarterly, on the 1st paycheck following the end of each quarter and will be included in regular paychecks.
